About the Providence Alaska Foundation

Providence was built on philanthropy. As a not-for-profit health system, led by Mother Joseph, the Sisters of Providence built the first hospital in Nome more than 100 years ago with donations from gold miners. The excellent care that people continue to receive at Providence is due, in large part, to the support we continue to receive from the community. We are grateful for your support.

Our Mission:

The Providence Alaska Foundation works to build a broad and deep base of philanthropy to support the Mission of Providence Health & Services in Alaska.
Foundation Board
The Providence Alaska Foundation is a non-profit organization supporting the mission of Providence Health & Services Alaska.  Our board members partner with the Foundation and our community to continue the essential work of the Sisters of Providence: advancing health care excellence and access for all Alaskans.
