Adult Fitness Program
Developed for patients with chronic conditions that may not be comfortable exercising on their own or in a health club, the Providence Adult Fitness provides a safe atmosphere for exercise and a tailored program.
The Adult Fitness program features a one-time fitness assessment and individualized exercise prescription. The exercise prescription is developed with each patient in mind and includes a program of warm-up and stretching, aerobic and strength training, and cool down. Patients are instructed on safe exercise guidelines, blood pressure monitoring and blood sugar monitoring for those patients with diabetes.
Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab staff are available for any questions or concerns that may arise while patients exercise. Patients are able to exercise in the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation gym up to four days a week on their own.
A physician referral is required to enroll in this program. Financial aid is available and program staff will assist with this process.
