Maguire Hamey named Alaska’s Children’s Miracle Network Champion for 2015
10-Year-Old The Children’s Hospital at Providence Patient Maguire Hamey to Serve as 2015 Alaska Champion Ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
The Children’s Hospital at Providence is proud to announce that Maguire Hamey has been named the 2015 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion presented by Delta Air Lines, Marriott International and Chico’s FAS ambassador for the state of Alaska. Throughout this year, Maguire and family will serve as local, state and national spokespeople, advocating for the charitable need at children’s hospitals across North America.
Maguire was named the 2015 Champion ambassador due to his courageous battle with viral encephalitis resulting in a coma and hospitalization in The Children’s Hospital at Providence’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. In June, all state Champion ambassadors will travel to Washington D.C. to share their stories with a national audience.
About the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Champions program
The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champions program presented by Delta Air Lines, Marriott International and Chico’s FAS identifies a child from each state, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico with a remarkable medical story and passion for advocating on behalf of children’s hospitals. These Champions serve as ambassadors for the 62 kids treated every minute at 170 member Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® raises funds and awareness for 170 member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year to kids across the U.S. and Canada. Donations stay local to fund critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $5 billion, most of it $1 at a time through the charity's Miracle Balloon icon. Its various fundraising partners and programs support the nonprofit's mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
