Claire Wilson, MD, joins Providence Pediatric Gastroenterology Clinic

New physician to care for Alaska’s children

ANCHORAGE, AK – Pediatric gastroenterologist Claire Wilson, MD, has joined the Providence Pediatric Gastroenterology Clinic. She is now Alaska’s second pediatric gastroenterologist. Dr. Wilson will provide care to Alaska’s children alongside Gregory Semancik, MD, and Kimberly Longcake, ANP, at the clinic.

Dr. Wilson was born and raised in Los Angeles, Calif. She received her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Southern California before specializing in pediatric gastroenterology.
“We are honored to have Dr. Wilson as the newest member of our pediatric team,” said Tom Hunt, MD, chief executive of the Providence Physician Services Organization, which oversees the clinic. “Her knowledge and experience will bring another element to the already excellent care that Providence provides for Alaska’s children.”
The Providence Pediatric Gastroenterology Clinic and The Children’s Hospital at Providence provide local care to children with specific medical conditions. Other pediatric services supported by Providence include: cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, endocrinology and nephrology, to name a few. Prior to Providence’s support, many Alaskan children had to travel outside of the state to receive care from physicians who specialized in these fields.
